I opted to take one more sick day for the sake of my back, and also see a doctor (sort of) through the insurance provided by my company. Story time!

Lengthy, but hey; a doctor is going to review this stuff, so it's better the doctor be informed. An hour later, I received an e-mail from an actual doctor, more or less saying "Yep, sounds like you tweaked a muscle in your back, here's a prescription for a muscle relaxant."

Essentially, it's exactly what the result would have been if I had to traipse all the way to a doctor's office, except I didn't have to leave the comfort of my own home while having a fucked-up back. It didn't cost me anything, and the prescription only cost me about $12.
