Go into work in pain with a pulled/spasming muscle in my upper-left back, or take a third sick day in the hope that I'll feel better tomorrow? :/

Not yet, I've pulled back muscles before and it typically just takes some days to go back to normal. If it's still happening tomorrow, though, I plan to go to a doctor.
