That manual is half a tree... Its very detailed, I just wish I understood more of it. It took me almost 10 years to find a good copy after which there are now quite a few players being repaired. I even contacted @Philips UK and Museum in Eindhoven trying to find more info.

Interesting, do you have any contacts there these days? I've also been interested in preserving Philips CD-i players for even longer, but the documentation for their audio-processing customs, LEMM and CDIC, doesn't seem to exist anywhere.
