Specifically, if I type a sentence to someone and try to use the ":P" emoticon, I send a pizza emoji unless I explicitly do colon-P-escape-enter rather than just colon-P-enter, because the moment I type colon-P, Telegram now pops up the emoji list with the pizza emoji selected.
Granted, it just puts a pizza emoji into my send buffer, and doesn't insta-send, but it's still annoying to have to backspace over the errant emoji, then remember to hit escape after typing such a basic emoticon as :P.
Sorry about that. Unticking "replace emoji" in Settings will fix this.
That's why Discord for example has it so that emojis are only displayed after 2 letters have been written
