It means I've gravitated towards programming since roughly age 7 or so, circa 1992, which I've turned into a productive career. It means I think visually, which makes me decent at GPU programming. It means I need my space sometimes. It means I'm crap at socializing, sometimes.

It means I had to go through speech therapy when I was in 4th grade, but by learning inflection by rote, have developed one hell of a radio voice, to the extent that several people at every job I've ever had have told me I should do voiceover work.

It meant being relentlessly bullied and taunted throughout school. It meant having lingering trust issues and almost zero confidence. It meant seeing countless therapists throughout my childhood to try to figure out what the hell was wrong with me.

It meant my mother being told by some that my problems were because she didn't discipline me enough. It meant her being told by others that it was "because [she] didn't have a close enough relationship with God", whatever the hell that means.

It meant her being told that my problems were because she didn't have a man in her life. It means being able to listen to music and focus on individual instruments with almost laser precision. It means knowing the lyrics of hundreds of songs which I can sing at the drop of a hat.
