Fortunately, the Dealer's Den at #NordicFuzzCon typically involves people selling cool things for remarkably decent prices. As for making conversation with people, I used to be rather extroverted for a dude with autism, but those days are gone. 2015 destroyed my self-confidence.

Well that’s good news! Overspend in the Dealer’s Den! Conversation in the bar; Hi.. Having a good time? The Dealers Den is great, the prices are decent aren’t they‽ What’re you drinking? This your first FuzzCon? I never know what to do when I get here... see? Conversation!

Is that how that works? I'll have to give it a try.

It's worked for me for over 40 years. I'm a kind of extrovered introvert. We're having a conversation now. Easy eh?

Funny enough, just now I've finally figured out that the issue is just getting over the hump of self-doubt when it comes to striking up a conversation with people.

It's a huge assist when someone else insists on breaking the ice, rather than me having to break the ice. A fur from Uppsala at the con wanted to meet me, so we did. We went together to the nearby liquor store, and went back to the con, having great conversation the whole time.

It's not an issue of having things to talk about - the other person can think of things to talk about, too - and it's not a matter of being interesting. It's just a matter of getting over that initial "Hey, how y'doing?" barrier.
