My personal opinion is that the Second Amendment is important, but all of the other Rights of the People are also important. I can't abide politicians who trample all of the People's other Rights, just because they do protect the Second Amendment rights.

I'm of the opinion that the right to bear arms shall not be infringed, up until the point that it becomes a threat to the founding concepts of the Declaration of Independence itself - that is, in particular, Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Most importantly, Life.

As someone who has gone shooting in a state where it's legal to use a friend's firearm at a licensed gun range, I would happily give up such a pretty darn fun Saturday diversion if it meant a concrete reduction in the likelihood of wholesale slaughter of high school students.

Or, really, the slaughter of anyone in general. This should go without saying, but I consistently forget that I live in 2018, not 1998, so some things need to be made clearer than one might expect.
