I appreciate it! I mean, is it me? Am I being unreasonable to expect a 'smart' coffee machine to be able to successfully exit energy-saving mode? Is it meant to save energy by ensuring nobody can use it?

Coder here as well, and I do notice these kind of "bugs" on our coffee machine as well. Makes you wonder about their testing procedures indeed. Every now and then some service guy is coming over when it totally fails and I just give them a "bug report" :) .

Oh, definitely, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't even rate as high as a stubbed toe. I just felt like ranting while waiting for my coffee to kick in. ;)
