@thynnmas It occurs to me that you'd be awesome at contributing to MAME, but the amount of legacy and WTF-code would probably give you an aneurysm.
It looks like there are multiple tiles with a common size multiple. Is your FBO an even fraction of the backbuffer size?

Not quite. But it gets better. My log tells me I failed to create a new FBO when resizing, this setting the handle to 0. So on the second resize, I attempt to delete the backbuffer. Now I'm rendering to & blitting from a non-existant FBO, to a "deleted" backbuffer.

And it does tend to reuse the same memory, so it's the mangled previous render, but channels have been shifted and the tiling doesn't match.
