This reminds me of Cavalier d’Éon who lived half of her life as a man and half as a woman and was a spy and master sword fighter in the 1700’s

Pro tip: don’t make statements like this. “Oh so my opinion doesn’t matter” is a thought-terminating cliche.

You're absolutely right, it was a flippant and uncalled-for statement. I apologize.

I think part of why we need to remember long dead possible Trans people is because even if they weren't trans, the represent the unwritten unremembered trans people who were around. And at the least represent gender norms being questioned for a loooong time.

But I also understand where you're coming from. Especially since these people aren't around the advocate for themselves.

I think
@Sawbones approached this well with their episode on Dr. James Barry. They explain that this person was Afab and could be the first trans doctor. But since they didn't know their preferred pronouns and the truth, they used the pronouns the doctor used in life (he/him). -
That sounds like a really good way of approaching the topic! I always knew there was a reason why I liked
@Sawbones. We should definitely celebrate historical figures who were most likely trans, the topic just needs to be approached carefully and tactfully is all.
