On the subject of restaurants I miss living in Sweden, there's a hole in my soul for Alexi's Diner in the suburbs outside Albany, NY. Not sure whether it counts as being in Troy or East Greenbush based on its position on highway 4.
My friends The Mikes (Chrzanowski: Thief Gold, Thief II, GH Wii, and Bonafede: GH Wii, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance) and I went there so often for lunch and dinner that Alexi, the owner, actually humored us over a joke from It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia, and made us Milk Steak.
It was pretty great, actually. He cooked it in a cream-based sauce with honey, which you wouldn't think would be good, but it was really tasty. Greek diner owners don't mess around when it comes to good cooking.
I miss a diner called "The Moustache Cup" in Olathe Kansas, and Antoine's on the Boulevard in Kansas City. Antoine's served all you can eat boiled shrimp, delivered to your table in a toy dump truck. And no, I didn't put them out of business, but not for lack of trying.
Damn. I need to quit thinking about restaurants and go to bed.
