The advice is appreciated! Though in this case, the temporary hearing loss is a combination of having had a raging ear infection for a week, in addition to almost complete wax blockage in the ear canal.
Well, that was interesting. I heard a cracking noise and suddenly gained back about 2-3kHz of the 6-7kHz of high end that I've been missing from my left ear for the past week.

Incidentally, my former physician, Dr. Alfonso Romano of Capio Vårdcentral Skogås, tried to tell me that my *only* problem was wax blockage. As if that causes periodic stabbing pain in my eardrum and a fever.

I've had good results with 'Elephant Ear Washer Bottle System' You fill it with warm to hot water and do 5 sprays in each ear in the shower. You'll see a sizeable wax ball drop from your ear after sprays. I can confirm it works for me.
