There's no such thing as a rainy-day slush fund with the MAME team, it's pretty much just "Hey, I'll buy this." But that generally only works when it's individual things that one is buying. Larger auctions naturally require getting the word out, and are a collective effort.

No, I am okay. I suppose what I’m saying is that if we win, I don’t particularly care if you return my pledge by selling off the handhelds the project already emulates.
I greatly appreciate it! Rest assured, any pledges that people don't want back, which would otherwise be reimbursable after reselling the already-emulated handhelds, will be used solely for obtaining other undumped items. Not a red cent is going to go into my pocket.
