Random thought: The MAME team isn't great at getting word out about things. We're getting better, but still not great. The thing is, people generally don't even *know* that it's possible to emulate these LCD handhelds, and that we already do so for a decent handful of them.
For that matter, MESS being rolled into MAME proper, around 3 years ago now, seems to have passed most folks by. It's not the best for a number of major popular systems, but for systems off the beaten path, it's often the best or only emulator.
e.g. how many other Apple II emulators give you fine-grained control over exactly which slots which expansion cards are connected to? How many of them emulate as many expansion cards?
