@ashens It occurs to me that as the king of LCD-game tat, you might know people willing to help out a MAME developer of 15 years in the quest to obtain a job lot of vintage Game & Watches and other LCD games, for permanent historical preservation through emulation. Any love?
Many thanks! For those out of the loop, for about the past year, MAME has been capable of emulating various LCD games, from Game & Watches, to Tiger Electronics titles, and beyond. There's currently an auction for 28 assorted G&W, Gakken, and Casio titles.
I'm currently looking for little more than for people to pledge that if I can win the auction and post proof as such, they would help defray my potentially massive out-of-pocket costs. Nothing would change hands until I could post proof of having made the winning bid.
The practical upshot for you, the people pledging, is that your names or handles would be immortalized in each whatsnew.txt that ships with a given version of MAME that adds support for one or more of the titles that's up for auction.
