What avout GNU diff? Don't know if it works on large files though, but I think -y is for side-by-side.

I strongly recommend Beyond Compare. In an old studio we'd use this over p4diff and it has a lot of nice options, like comparing local vs ftp folders and good image diffs https://www.scootersoftware.com/features.php?zz=features_focused …

Started using Beyond Compare just as a difftool in
#Git but things like Set as base folder and Set as base folder in other side make it the most elegant file tree browser ever! Helps a lot in Linux but it's maybe a better file system than Mac Finder even.pic.twitter.com/VDBVaqx1mD

Weirdly enough, TortoiseGitDiff, of all the darn things, actually seems to make pretty short work of diffing the files. I'll definitely look into Sublime, we use it at work and it's a great piece of software! I'll also look at Notepad++. The more text editors the better. :)
