Lots of bugs result from some inconsistent code structure somewhere deep down. Fixing structures of code sometimes fixes lots of such bugs more or less as a side effect. [2/4]

Yeah, your favorite glitch disappeared... it wasn't because someone sat down to be mean to you by specifically fixing that bug while ignoring other ones - it was because someone re-structured code to be better. [3/4]

Being angry about how this was a waste of a developer's time, upset about making this bug a priority, or even how it was done out of spite... or whatever else such sentiment is thoroughly unproductive. [4/4]

Yeah, good luck with that. You'd have better luck making a led horse drink water than stem the flow of uninformed and inexperienced kids lobbing verbal salvos because they think making a mod gives them over a decade of game industry experience across numerous publishers.

As a dev in a public-facing role you take the good with the bad. For every idiot tween with an axe to grind, there's ten more bright-eyed younger folks willing to listen to reason. But suffice it to say there's a reason why I'm glad my current job isn't public-facing.
