escalators are never broken, they transform into stairs
The downward escalator from the pendeltåg platform at Årstaberg has been broken for 3 days now, and the sign has said "reparator är på väg" for the same amount of time. Where is the reparator "på väg" from, Umeå? On foot?

True, but in high-throughput areas like public transportation, they also sow chaos as parents wheel their strollers/buggies/prams right up to the escalator, then suddenly have to back out when they realize it's broken, despite having like 5+ people behind them already.
