So, let's not overhype, but if AppleSauce makes it out of beta/prototypes we are looking at, it "solves" the "boot protected disks" in MAME.

That is, it will generate the right images so that MAME will "just boot" completely uncracked, right-off-the-originals Apple II disk images.
Your wording makes it sound like MAME has a problem for expecting images in a preservation-quality format. Naturally I take umbrage to that.

I simply mean the EDD format had/has a flaw that makes it unreliable for a subset of images that we are now fixing.
