I notice that, contrary to literally every contract I've ever signed in the industry, they don't assert ownership over my spare-time work.
(yeah, I wasn't quite as outspoken or as confident back then as I am now. So yes, I did sign such contracts back in the day.)

So I asked the hiring manager, "So, Patrik, I know we've talked about my work on MAME; what's the company policy on work in my off-hours?"

He goes (and I'm paraphrasing), "If it doesn't affect your ability to work for us, we don't care what you do in your time."
