My point is, cost-of-living calculators don't factor that in Sthlm you won't need a car payment, or car insurance payment, or fuel budget.
And on a personal level: I have a wider circle of friends than I ever did in the US. I own my own home for the first time in, well, ever.

I have a loving partner. I'm comfortable. I'm secure. I'm safe. My past 3.5yrs in Sweden are a marked change from the 28.5yrs previous.

I would encourage any open-minded tech people to come here. It's not without its warts, but it's head and shoulders above my life in the US.
