I love the dark winters here in Sweden. The light coming through my blinds at 2:30 in the morning during summer, that I can do without.

I had considered it, but the problem is the blinds on these windows are actually mounted /between/ two glass panes

Well, looks like you're screwed, last thing I can think of is sound proof foam, but you don't glue it down, you just stack it.
