Seriously, they've done "lol random" humor since the late 70's with the classic "Airplane!". Ain't nothing new under the sun. It's great. :D

Oh yeah, that's my point. It's only in the past 10-15 years there've been similar shows e.g. It's Always Sunny, and Workaholics.

The BBC has been at the forefront of that sort of cringe-comedy, it's only in the past 15-20 years the USA has fallen in line :)
