that's all Monty Python was on TV. And before that still, the utterly legendary Goon Show in the 40s/50s. A trail well blazed.
Seriously, they've done "lol random" humor since the late 70's with the classic "Airplane!". Ain't nothing new under the sun. It's great. :D

Exactly. It's only in the last 10-15 years that such shows have become mainstream in the US. UK had it sorted years ago. :)

Surely you can't be serious. "Airplane!" isn't random at all if you know what they're spoofing.

Yes, it's a sendup of 70's disaster flicks, but you can't say it doesn't come off like a live-action Gmod Idiot Box or AMV Hell.
