You know it's an odd error when an Apple support rep tells you how to enable debug mode in the App Store so you can nuke the download cache.

I've had to do that before. I generally just leave the debug modes on in case of emergency.
Yeah, I plan to leave it on as well, can't hurt anything and could potentially be helpful :D

iTunes, Disk Utility, Notes and Reminders all have debug menus as well. They come in handy every now and then.
