Got a glorious microphone (Blue Yeti), but my living room acoustics are too "wet", sounds like it was recorded in an empty room. Ideas?

carpets,rugs,curtains, more furniture

Got plenty of furniture, but other than the couches, they're hard material. Might buy some rugs + hang baffles on walls.

anything like rugs and curtains etc that isnt a flat surface would help, you could also buy acoustic foam but would look

a tad odd in a sitting room

Still, I've heard of ghetto solutions involving sitting the mic in a 5-sided cardboard box with foam in it, thoughts?

i think that might work as a temporary solution but if your wanting more permanent the foam would be best bet

Hypothetically, what if I hung the foam in my bedroom and just used the mic with a laptop? More fabric = more dry, right?
