TFW you're not exactly conversational in French, but know exactly enough to get pissed off at the awful quality of the subtitles in Wasabi and Banlieue 13

Yeah, I hate that. Wordplay is one of my favorite things.
At the very beginning of Wasabi, one of those things that gets totally trashed is multiple instances of characters asking "Où est le feu ?" ("Where's the fire?") to ask what the hurry is. The point is that Hubert's late partner will be cremated the next day in Japan.

It's even foreshadowed when Hubert (played by Jean Reno) gets called by the estate attorney in Japan, suggesting he fly out there ASAP. Hubert asks, "Où est le feu ?" and the attorney even responds, "Précisément." before continuing. That's the WHOLE POINT. Lost by the subtitles.

It even results in losing half the comedic value of Hubert (implied by a camera cut, not shown) punching out a baggage-checker at the Tokyo airport, who sarcastically asks him "Heyyyy, où est le feuuuuu ?" when he expresses disdain at being delayed.
