Nobody "called me out". Lynn rightly pointed out that Steve's joke was terrible. I pointed out the context - in an overbearing way, which was wrong. Lynn reiterated the joke sucks. Being on the autism spectrum, I know how things can affect me, so I do hope things look up.
I was wrong. I could have chosen a better way of trying to clarify the joke, and made it more clear from the get-go that I agree that the joke was pretty lousy. But I didn't, and that's on me.
