Pretty sure that not only does Steve Martin not do this, but this was what is commonly considered among neurotypicals to be known as "a joke", regarding an idealized hypothetical situation where one might do this, and everyone is on the level. One which does not, in fact, happen.
So basically, save your spoons and invective for all of the idiot YouTube "prank" channels who actually *would* do this, and spare your invective from a decades-established comedian who actually knows better.
