According to Sweden's health-care app, Alltid Öppet - which happens to be the only way to book a vaccination appointment for the new up-to-1986 block that just opened - there are *no* places with available slots. They're all taken. This is fucking bullshit.
A coworker suggested simply re-trying for a while. I just tried that for a few minutes and had to stop myself from throwing my phone across the room after repeatedly seeing an open time, and having it unavailable by the time I could even click on it.
This is peoples' health and lives here, this isn't a fucking PS5 or a GPU, the government should be able to do fucking well better than this. They should be booking times FOR people, not treating this as a goddamn raffle.
What infuriates me on a personal level is how unusable the Alltid Öppet app is. I'd be about 50% less angry if there were an actual "reload page" button, rather than forcing me to back out and then click back into the provider list every time it comes up with no available times.
A friend of mine (who is a software dev for a government organisation) says the UK site for booking vaccines keeps doing the same thing - the systems just can't handle trying to book appointments for like, sizeable swathes of the population!
