Thats a big gripe I have with gaming. If people are gonna dislike a game, or anything else for that matter, it should be because of the thing itself and not the people outside of it
I would argue for a middle ground; a good product made by an objectionable person doesn't necessarily invalidate the product, but it doesn't necessarily validate the person, either. For products that are the sum total of numerous individuals' work, though, it gets murkier.

One thing I do want to be upfront about is that I'm no saint, myself. I've said countless things over the years that I'll regret, and will continue to haunt me. But at the end of the day, the blame for that lies squarely on *me*. It's up to me to do better. That's it.

It's easy to cast upright devs under the bus for working at EA, or ATVI, or Ubisoft or whatnot. But people outside the industry have a skewed view rooted in confirmation bias about how easy it really is to just uproot your whole life and go indie, or find a "better" employer.
