Arguably Notch was the least important part of Minecraft too, given it’s all about what you can do within the game’s framework, as opposed to FNAF which is, uh, isn’t it basically just an FMV game? I’ve never even played it.
FNAF is an interesting enough game, to be fair. But that quote from the PC Gamer article about this whole fiasco was hilarious on multiple levels. I mean, it shows how well it was buried that Notch was little more than a figurehead for a couple years *before* he even left, too.

It overlooks the resurgence in popularity that Minecraft has seen over the past few years, too. The amount of code cleanup and features that the team have busted their collective humps to add in the past few years.

Buried? I wasn’t a huge Minecraft fan at any point but even before he went off the deep end on Twitter it was clear to me that he wasn’t one of the major devs on it anymore. He was busy on…whatever that game that never came out was called.

Still, you are yourself a developer, meaning you're more in tune to nuance. Do you think the average tween who could be replaced with an Arduino masquerading as a USB HID that simulates keypresses to type "Herobrine" every 5 minutes is aware of that?
