Switch owners, a question: Didn't use my Switch for nearly a year. Battery went completely flat. No response even when plugged into the charger, holding the power button doesn't even get a charging icon on the LCD. How fucked am I?
How direct should the connection be? It's been sitting in the dock, with the charger connected to the dock, for weeks at this point, but still no love. I'm now trying it connected directly to the (official) charger, but I'm growing concerned. Do the joycons need to be attached?

A week is bad, mine usually recovers within a few hours. I always directly hook it up, as I have the smol one right now. Though my old classic switch I'm pretty sure I charged with the joycons on it.

HAHAH! What on earth! I just held down the power button for 5+ seconds, it briefly showed the Nintendo logo, blanked, then popped up to the system menu reporting 93% battery charge. I swear, I held the power button for that long earlier.
