A fursuit auction could score $1,000,000 and I still won't begrudge the artist or buyer, because I'm not interested in bad faith arguments. Could the money be better spent on other things? Sure, if YOU were the one spending it. I'd rather see artists prosper from their work.
If put on the spot, I could possibly name one furry YouTuber, but that's it. I'm not sure if I'm being overly harsh here, but "let a YouTuber act as a fursuit escrow agent" is quite possibly one of the most quintessentially late-teens/early-20's furry thing I've heard in a while.

Furs have bought and sold fursuits for decades at this point, brooking wild shifts in both price and availability, without relying on some "influencer" to hold things in escrow. The only new thing is fursuit ownership or salesmanship being viewed as so life-or-death a thing now.

«some "influencer" to hold things in escrow» It does not have to be a furry YouTuber with a huge audience, just an agreed upon trusted neutral 3rd-party to help verify & provide video proof. Unboxing videos are easy content to produce, & can help channels gain traction (+fees?)
