If HDMI is a digital link, why *do* TVs do so much post rather than just shoving video packets into a framebuffer? Why is "game mode" still pretty laggy? Some days I feel like I'm Boris Grishenko at the end of GoldenEye, except I'm screaming at a TV instead of Natalya.pic.twitter.com/rU8on1b0Qw

TVs that have overscan on a fully digital HD signal make me furious. There are well defined areas for the image, so why is any part cut off? but really, everything about TVs is just awful for no good reason I really should just look into getting a nice monitor and some speakers.

Yeah even for general users like me it's really annoying at times when TVs do useless garbage which massively increases input latency... Fortunately there do still... maybe exist TVs with acceptable, aka unnoticeable, input latency?
