An observation during these remote-work times: I find it all the more important to re-iterate to new hires that I'm on the autism spectrum. When they hear me over Discord, I don't have the stereotypical flat affect. If anything, I'm more expressive than most folks.

I'm curious. If I may ask, what's the stereotypical flat affect? I personally find it "easier" to communicate with coworkers online than physically

Low expressiveness. A generally neutral tone, with very little tonal shift upward or downward from word to word. Take what the average radio announcer says, and then, more or less, the opposite of that. It's rare to hear the flat affect in person, talking to other auties.
