Son of an actual- so, I'm working on improving MAME's CD-i emulation. I have a brand new framework for the CDIC which seems to work well. I run Lemmings, which has been an easy test case - BGM fails to play. This time, it plays great. I beat the first level.
The game fades to black and then informs me that my disc may be dirty, and I should fix that, then boots me back out to the system menu. Well, that's less than great. Foolishly, I re-start MAME, assuming it's a consistent issue. I re-beat the first level... no error.
So, great, the log of all disc and audio accesses has now been overwritten with the current run. Oh well. I kept going. Game worked great for the first six levels. Then it abruptly soft-locked on the seventh level when I selected a Lemming type. I swear, this system is cursed.
I know it what ur goin thru with rn is prob frustrating as all hell but bless you for trying to make cdi properly emulatable
I mean my real CD-I 450 acts like this so that sounds "accurate"... 
Hey, a friend of mine got four undumped cdi games and we kinda want to get them out there for archival but have no idea what we're doing. Can we DM?
