I think 30-ish might be the cutoff, sure there's been new arcade games but for the most part there aren't dedicated arcades getting new releases, and anyone under 30 would be experiencing most arcade games as 'retro' and the cultural experience different imo
Very true! I replied to that very post just a moment ago to point out that I completely inverted my intended meaning when I wrote it. What I meant to suggest was that only people *older* than the age of about 30 will have any memory of arcades in their heyday.

I read it wrong and got the correct meaning anyway haha! I was being more generous with 30-ish in that I vaguely have some distant memories of new arcade games when I was very young. But by the time I was in my late teens arcades were well and truly dead in the UK.
