Because, yeah, that's true. When I was growing up, she once recounted a story from when I was still just a baby. She was meeting up with some other parents to kibitz with other parents, more for their own ability to vent than any socialization among the infants.
One of the moms asked her, "What would you do if he turns out to be [hushed voice] gay, or transgender?" According to her, she just scoffed and went, "I'll love him just the same! He's my kid!"
Even asking that question is so selfish, caring about one selfs “image” or whatever instead of just hoping one’s kid can find happiness.
I know right? I'm glad my mom pretty much shut that shit down with a quickness.
