I always think about the line from those flight safety brochures, put your own gas mask on first before helping others. This is doubly true in this case where "putting your own gas mask on" IS helping others by strengthening herd immunity.
Wanting to be helpful and actually being helpful are two different things. Stockholm is throwing away thousands of doses because the current age bracket is going "Oh, no, give my dose to someone more worthy." when all that does is ensure that their dose gets thrown away.
