That sums it up nicely.. None of all that usual accepted-social stuff that takes forever. Meet someone, they seem nice, be like "YES I ALSO LIKE BATS" and proceed act like you've been friends for 10 years. I love it
I literally met the dude who's lived with me for the past 7 and a half years, 2 weeks after moving to Sweden and opting to attend a group meet. "Hey, his outfit looks cool, I should talk to him." I did. We got along great.

We were a couple for a while, have drifted emotionally over the past 4 years, but I've still got his back and know damn well he's got mine, and we're still great friends.

His family pretty much socially adopted me. First non-dysfunctional family I've been part of. By pure chance, we even live in the same neighbourhood, it's a 3-minute walk to his parents' place.
