They are pretty good at curating their communities, the one time I went to a furry convention it was the chillest convention ever.
It hasn't always been that way, either. What people confuse for an increasing amount of "callout culture" is just people being empowered to speak out about things that'd have been expected to be taken up "in private" and swept under the rug 10, 15 years ago.
