For the past few hours I've kept getting whiffs of what smells like melting plastic. I'm a bit concerned, but I can't really narrow down where it's coming from, and I've checked all of my power bricks and they're all cool to the touch, so

My kids fighting had tripped over and pulled hard at an extension cord to the extent that the entire wall plug was pulled hard enough that a connection went bad,in turn tripping the circuit breaker.Opened it up and noticed that the cables had been pulled and blackened
This might sound a bit silly, but as best I can tell, it's the smell of Sevan hot sauce at a distance. It didn't crop up until shortly after I made some reheated lunch. Get within 30cm and the vinegar smell comes out, up to 1m away it smells like plastic. Go figure.

Better silly than dangerous, good time to check your fire alarm if nothing else. Heard of a retro collector a bunch of friends here in STHLM knew who died in a fire some years back(not sure if he was a smoker as well but fires don’t care)
