hey I've got a question, would y'all say that the term "sanity check" is ableist, and if so what would be a good alternative?
We can no longer assume positive intentions and that an inept techie is simply using domain-specific terminology in an attempt at being as effective as possible in communications, it's much better to assume that everyone wants to subjugate another person absent any other indicia.

If there might be some wafting of sarcasm as to my replies, yes, there absolutely is. Because as someone who's had to deal with being on the autism spectrum, and all of the prejudices with it, for 20+ years, maybe let's not tilt at windmills.

Are there ableist people in tech? Yes, absolutely. There are people of every prejudiced variety in the industry. That is very clear. But let's not give in to the trauma-oriented idea that every single person is a threat, and so we must pillow-case every word we use.
