my roommate warned me there was another door-to-door salesperson in the neighborhood. For 20mins I'm bracing myself to give a firm "no". Then the dude shows up and it's a teenager selling Bambu-brand socks and underwear to fund student-related stuff. You bet I bought that shit.

Another student came by like 3 months ago selling the same. I only bought one pack, but those have been the best damn socks I've had in ages. I've been hoping someone else would show up selling more of them. Those are some resilient-ass socks.

Seriously, why can't more people come to my door selling socks and cookies that I like, rather than trying to sell me on junk I don't need like changing my home security provider?

'cause if they sold a product worth a damn they probably wouldn't be going door to door to rely on shitty sales tactics in the first place.

Yeah, can't really disagree with that. It's just weird that there's this gulf where students will go around selling stuff that's either practical or tasty, meanwhile adults are going around doing high-pressure sales tactics on things nobody needs, and there's no middle ground.

tbh they'd probably send the kids out to sell the scummy shit too if they could teach them to be assholes

Or if it was legal, which thank fuck it isn't in Sweden (for now).
