Language is weird, considering we have things like cyklist, dietist, artist, but not dentist
Swedish is a magical language. It resolves the uncountable vs. countable issue in English - less/fewer but more/more - via the symmetric mindre/färre and mer/fler. But it also lacks a dedicated word for "dentist" and "gums": Tandläkare (tooth doctor), and tandkött (tooth meat).

Not really, "varv" has the linguistic implications associated with both "lap" and "turn". I haven't seen the XKCD yet, but I'm assuming you mean "gång", as it pertains to multiplication. It works if you suspend disbelief.
