I dunno... for me personally, I've always considered these things just personality traits of mine. I never really liked putting myself in a box the same way a lot of autistics I've seen online do.
100% agreed! I'd also like to offer that a diagnosis isn't a definition. With the hoarding analogy, a person getting an ASD or ADHD diagnosis doesn't make boxes appear from thin air. It's important to know that diagnoses describe a spectr*um*, not spectr*a*.

Each molecule has its own set of spectra that appear on the color spectrum when subject to gas chromatography. So, too, does each individual on the autism spectrum have their own set of spectra. The diagnosis describes possible traits, not definite traits.

To an extent, that's something I'd like to see taken up when it comes to terminology: I'm on the autism spectrum, here are my autism spectra.
