I haven't had as much problem with the large packages from Costco, they are heavier stock and have sharper cutter edges. Also the fact that these packages are big and heavy keep them anchored to the counter when they're in use so they tend to cut more cleanly
Those rolls of foil or plastic wrap in a card-stock box with a cheap serrated edge never work right for me. It just snags and either crumples (foil) or stretches (plastic wrap). I never get a clean cut. Anyone else have this trouble?

Basically, packages of wrap that are made for use in food service environments tend to be more durable and cut a hell of a lot cleaner

I've had the most success putting the box on a counter and pushing the lid down on the cutting edge with the length of my hand.

I bought some parchment paper recently, the only brand they had was called "If You Care", eco-friendly package's selling point said the serrated edge is made of paper, instead of metal. Predictably it didn't work. I guess they mean, "if you care, you'll put up with our bullshit"
