More than just that,
@LinusTech's tips are killing words when it comes to those of us on the MAME team. He advises that people use a damn Raspberry Pi 4 to run an ancient derivative of MAME that isn't even legally able to be released.
The only reason MAME2003+ exists is that the ™ holders are too lazy to take action. Meanwhile, one MAME2003 developer, sometimes known as "gamez fan", has a hobby of shit-talking us on every forum that doesn't ban his unhinged bile. Despite that without us, he'd have nothing.

The reality is that you can just about get a used i5-based machine from a dumpster for about as much as it costs to buy a RasPi4, and with that i5 you can run the latest version of MAME, with all of the accuracy improvements of the past 15+ years that MAME2003 lacks.

The best option for an arcade cabinet is to stick a RasPi 4 into it and run an ancient, barely-legal fork of MAME on it? FOH with that, Linus.
