Hopefully they'll give you the option of occasional face-to-face meetings. Remote is good, but sometimes sitting down face to face gives even better results for some tasks. I'd still prefer remote for 80% of it, though!
Truth be told, the worst part of the remote work this year hasn't been the remote work itself, but the fact that it wasn't an option. I'd love nothing more than to go into the office and kibitz with my coworkers. But if I can't do that safely, well, I just ain't going to do it.
When it comes to face-to-face meetings, like during the weekly bug triage meetings, I'd actually rather be there with everyone else. But when my days are free to just put my head down and focus on coding, well shit, what's the point of a 45-minute commute one way, and then back?
